In my own practice of making pattern designs, the use of templates really enhances my creative process. By providing a structured foundation, templates enable me to explore my artistic vision without the daunting task of starting from scratch.
Because I didn’t want to use the same templates over and over, I decided to make some of my own. Here are three examples of the templates and my designs.
These unique templates push the boundaries of traditional design, sparking creativity and inspiring new forms and motifs that I wouldn’t typically explore. I am truly grateful to pattern designer Weronika Salach for her insightful online post on crafting your own templates, as it opens up a world of creative possibilities. You can find the post here.
